Future and Current Improvements

  1. Fixed a number of small bugs and UI issues and having my wife proofread the entire app. I am very close to submitting it to the app store.
  2. Added a free set for Conceptual Tools and Logic. I teach an introductory logic course, and it has material that I provided my students.
  3. Once the app gets to the Apple store, the goal is to focus on marketing and Android. After that, I have a few sub-app ideas I would like to pursue.

If you have any other ideas for the app or come across issues, email info@swiftlit.app. I would love to make the app more usable for users.

  1. I am hoping to add some sets on alternative building methods because, besides coffee, that is something I am really interested in (I'm an millennial who can't afford a house!).
  2. I just added a card in the coffee sub-app for tea. Hoping people catch the "Nothing more than hot leaf juice" tag on the card. Grew up with ATLA, and great character development for Zuko.
  3. The goal is to create at least one set for the free sets area and then get the app to the Apple app store. A

Hello, everyone. Thank you for downloading and using the app. I wanted a place to let you all know of some potential things I think would like to add or may add, Lord willing.

The best thing for the app and my ability to add features is to rate the app on the app store and tell your friends about it. I have really enjoyed the creative process behind this, and I'd love to be able to devote my full attention to it.

Without further ado, here are some hopes for the app in the next year:

1. Get the app to Android! My goal is end of April. As of writing this (Feb 14th), the goal is to get the app to the Apple app store by the end of February. I'm not sure how realistic that is, but I'm trying! [March 8th edit: still working on it, LOL]

2. Vocab flashcards for people wanting to learn other languages. This will not be as gamified as other apps, of course, and the hope would be that users would find other avenues to immerse themselves. I eventually also want to add history sets (World, US, Philosophy & Religion). This will also help me cross compete with a couple of different apps, and make it more usable to myself (since I really want to revisit history and learn a couple languages). I reached out to publishers of some Biblical Greek and Hebrew textbooks, but due to licensing, I will not be able to add those.

3. Move "Ambiance" to its own screen. I like where it's at, but I think it would make more sense to users to have its own area. Other fun UI could be added, like specific icons that appear when a user selects a sound.

4. "Achievements" page in stats. This could have trophies icons for specific achievements, like "1000 active cards," or "300 cards in level 3," or "100 Coffees Brewed." I don't like overly flashy things, so it could just be a notification stating that the user has this recognition in the stats screen.

5. An RSS feed screen for blogs. I thought about added a "pacer" line or the word highlight to this to help with reading faster. I will explore options like allowing the app to open a sub-browser for users to look at articles in platforms like substack.

6. At the risk of overwhelming users, I would also like to add more sounds and ambiance options. I really enjoyed making these, and I love the bird sounds for cues/alarms. When I originally had the seed idea for an audio cue to note where I was on the page, I had made a really annoying "beep" sound every minute. The bird calls have been such a pleasant upgrade and were fun to create.

7. Curate the themes a bit more. I started the app with the bird themes and added the glassy themes later in development. I'm undecided if I will keep them or not; if I do, I thought it would be fun to add a monochrome/artsy image of the bird behind the boxes. If I get rid of them, I will make some static glossy white and glossy black themes for users who don't like color (tongue in cheek).
